MITCHELL GRECO is the Associate Artistic Director at Theatre Under the Stars, where he has directed Irving Berlin's White Christmas, All Shook Up, and Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show. Previously at Stages, he directed Drag Wonderettes (world premeire) and A Case for the Existence of God, and directed and choreographed Das Barbecü, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Honky Tonk Laundry, Miracle on 34th Street, Murder for Two, Little Shop of Horrors, The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Xanadu, Big Fish, The Honky Tonk Angels series, Five Course Love, Life Could Be a Dream, co-directed Shear Madness and served as Assistant Director on Next to Normal and Winter Wonderettes. Other directorial credits include My Favorite Things: The Songs of The Sound of Music (written and directed by), Das Barbecü and The Pirates of Penzance at Houston Grand Opera, Promises, Promises, Bells are Ringing, New Girl in Town and The Pajama Game with Bayou City Concert Musicals, The Busy World is Hushed and On The Verge: The Geography of Yearning at Sam Houston State University, where he earned his BFA in Musical Theatre. He was named "Best Director of a Musical" by the Houston Press in 2022.


With roots in producing and directing live theatre, I'm no stranger to collaboration, problem solving and adapting on the fly, and approaching a challenge from many different angles to achieve the best possible outcome.
